Vermont Real Estate

The state of Vermont is located in the New England region. Lying in the North Eastern fringes of the country, this state almost covers an area of nine thousand and seven hundred square kilometers, which makes it the forty fifth largest state in the country. The state of Vermont can be said to be unique in the sense that it is the only state in the New England region, which does not have any coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. Before joining the United States of America as its fourteenth state, this state was known as the Republic of Vermont.

While the city of Montpelier is the capital city, unlike the capitals many other states, it is not the largest city in the state of Vermont. The city of Burlington is the largest city in this state. With Lake Champlain as its main water body, as well as the source of fresh water, the Connecticut River, which marks the eastern border of this state, is the other major source of water in this state. In fact, Lake Champlain is the largest freshwater body in the whole country. The state has been sub divided into six further regions, namely the Champlain Lowlands, Vermont Piedmont, Northeastern Highlands, the Valley of Vermont, the Taconic Mountains and the Green Mountains.

This has been done to help in the governance of the state. Speaking from the point of view of the weather or the climate, Vermont is one of the best states in the whole country. It has a humid continental climate. This gives the state of Vermont mildly warm summers. But the best part is reserved for the winters. Requisite amounts of snowfall at the proper elevations make Vermont the ultimate destination for skiing. And there is no place which can compare with the beauty of the state of Vermont, during which period it explodes into a riot of colors.

The economy of this state is driven forward by a holistic mix of agriculture and industry. The reports made in 2005 show that the gross produce of the state was almost twenty five billion. At the same time the per capita income of the state was almost thirty three thousand dollars on an average. Agriculture contributes nearly three billion dollars to the economy. The other mainstay of the economy is the dairy industry. Coming to manufacturing IBM is the biggest industry in the state of Vermont. It only creates nearly a fourth of all the jobs created by the manufacturing industry in this state. IBM is also responsible for contributing almost a billion dollars to the economy of Vermont. Tourism is the other big industry which constitutes almost thirty percent of the state’s gross produce.

With a population just in excess of six hundred thousand, this is one of the more peaceful places to live. With more than a hundred thousand homes of which almost a fifth are vacant, and of which the median price is below a hundred and fifty thousand dollars, this can become the location of the home of your dreams. So act now and buy that dream home lest anybody else grabs the opportunity before you.
