Virginia Real Estate

The state of Virginia, which occupies a major portion of the land in the eastern part of the country, is officially known as the Commonwealth of Virginia. Named after Queen Elizabeth I, who was referred to as the ‘Virgin’ queen, the name of this state is a reminder of the times when this country was o ruled by Great Britain, and was one of its many colonies. That is the only proof of its colonial past, as since then this state has earned the nickname of ‘Mother of Presidents’, because as many as eight presidents of the country have their places of birth in this state. It has also acted as the lodestone for various states like Illinois and so on, which have been carved out of the land belonging to the state of Virginia. Spread over an area of almost forty three thousand square kilometers, this state is ranked thirty fifth, in terms of area, throughout the country. With a comparatively milder climate, there are several National Parks in this state, such as the Shenandoah National Park. One of the characteristic features of this state is that most of the cities are independent entities.

The economy of this state is at par with the very best in the country. And this fact is lent credence to by the fact that the highly respected Forbes magazine voted that the state of Virginia had the ‘Best Climate for Business’, in the whole country. The factors which led to Virginia reigning supreme over the other states of the country are its quality of life, healthy business environs and high rate of economic growth. A holistic mix of agriculture and industry provide the required impetus to the economy of this state. Services by Amtrak and an extensive network of highways, tunnels, ferries and rapid transit, make transport a child’s play in this state. The presence of five big airports; namely Richmond International, Norfolk International, Washington Dulles, Washington Reagan National and Williamsburg International, makes air travel an easy option too.

The developed infrastructure and booming economy has led to a huge influx in this state. As a result of that, this state has a population already in excess of seven and a half billion. The population has increased by almost six hundred thousand people in the past seven years. More than half of this can be attributed to the phenomenon of immigration, which is a never ending one. As it is one of the more important states of the country, hence more people immigrate to this state.

And as a direct outcome of the influx of a huge number of people every year, the real estate market is witnessing an upsurge. Ample proof of this can be found in the fact that the median prices of homes is already touching almost the hundred eighty thousand dollars mark. Also, out of a total of approximately 1.25 million homes, only about eight percent are still vacant.

If you too want to live in state, then do the needful quickly and purchase a home in this state as soon as possible, so that you do not have to repent your own laziness later on.
