North Dakota Real Estate
North Dakota has been carved out of the original Dakota Territory. It formed the northern part of the Dakotas. It was in the year 1889 that North Dakota got recognized as a state. The name of the state of North Dakota comes from the Dakota tribe who used to live in this region. This state having an area in excess of seventy thousand square miles, the state of North Dakota ranks nineteenth in terms of area in the country. The state of North Dakota is steeped in history. Even before the arrival of the first explorers from the lands of Europe, the Native Americans were already living here. Till the end of the eighteenth century, this region did not witness much of a development. It was only after the establishment of railroads in this region that the interest of the people was attracted towards this otherwise sleepy place. In fact the railroads acted as a magnet, drawing many people towards the city.
This state has shown a lot of grit over the years. It was very badly hit by the Great Depression. The capitol of North Dakota was burnt and later replaced by a limestone structure. The climate of this state is a charming one. North Dakota is a classic example of a place with Continental climate. The weather, as a result usually remains moderate. Coming to the economy of the state of North Dakota, one must admit that despite the constraints it faces, the economic performance of this state can me placed in the highest bracket in the category. According to the last estimates made in the year 2005, the gross or total productivity of the state of North Dakota was almost twenty five billion dollars. As a direct result or output of that the per capita income of the people of this state was almost thirty two thousand dollars. This gives the state of North Dakota the thirty second position amongst the other states of the country, as far as the economy is concerned.
Agriculture plays the key role in driving the economy of this place forward. Wheat, soybeans, sunflowers, canola, barley etc are the main products. The state also has a negligible industrial output in the form of lignite mining, electric power, machinery and so on. This state has the only government owned bank in the form of the Bank of North Dakota. The North Dakota Mill and Elevator is also the only state owned mill.
The count taken in 2005 shows that North Dakota has a population of nearly six hundred and fifty thousand people. The population has not increased much ensuring that the idyllic conditions of this place remains intact.
There are above a hundred and twenty two thousand homes. This state is suited for investment in the area of real estate because the prices are still below the hundred thousand dollar mark and above a tenth of the homes are empty.
This place could easily become your Utopia if you carefully choose a home suited best to your needs. Here’s wishing you all the best in your venture.
A ND Real Estate agent’s success will tell you a lot about how he or she works. How many homes does that agent sell? An successful agent that sales many homes is usually easy to work with. When you are interviewing ND Real Estate agents you might find it helpful to ask for references. Of course, these references should have experiences relevant to the services you are looking for. If you are buying a home from the ND Real Estate agent, speaking to someone who has had a positive selling experience with the agent will not be of much help.
