The state has a stable economy and had a gross state product of about $ 41 billion and a per capita income of about $29,000 in the year 2004. The state’s agricultural output includes poultry, dairy, cattle, apples, maple sugar etc. commercial fishing was once the mainstay of the state’s residents. The industrial products include paper, lumber products, food products, leather, textile, naval ship building and electronic equipments among others. Tourism is also a major source of the state’s income.
The state has a good transport system that connects it to remote locations within the country or outside, this includes a number of interstates , high ways, few airports, railroad services like the Amtrak to name a few.
The state has a competent education system that aims to provide all round knowledge to the students. The state boasts of some of the nationally recognized colleges in the country. Thus, the state offers a complete package with a good education system, an efficient transportation system, a pollution free environment, great place for your kids to grow up.
