Situated in the extreme northwest portion of North America Alaska is included in the United States of America. This state is the largest, the wealthiest and the most racially diverse in the U.S. The history of the region goes back to the Upper Paleolithic Period when Asiatic groups crossed into Alaska through the Bering Land Bridge. The state first came into contact with Europeans in 1741. Alaska was granted statehood only on 3rd January 1959.

The Alaska Department of Education is in charge of the administration of several school districts that take care of the educational requirements of the people residing there. Higher education is provided by accredited universities like University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Alaska Fairbanks etc.
Road network and transport services aren’t too well- developed in the state of Alaska. The Alaska Railroad runs between Seward and Fairbanks. This railroad is famous for the service it provides during the summertime. The state has a well- developed ferry system known by the name of Alaska Marine Highway. Anchorage and Fairbanks are served by many major airlines like the Alaska Airlines.
Economically the state of Alaska is thriving and this can be easily made out by the recent estimates that show the gross state product ranking third in the nation. More than 80% of the state revenue comes from the petroleum extraction industry. The agricultural sector is poorly developed in this state. Maximum people in the state are employed by the Government and shipping and transportation industries.
The real estate market in Alaska is still meagerly developed since people rarely think of this state in any way other than a vacation spot! But if seen properly this state, in fact, has lots to offer especially to people who are crazy for adventure and are willing to stay in a less inhabited place. Statistical figures prove that Alaska can give you more in terms of higher- end housing than in terms of budget homes.
